Crochet star is a very cute pattern.

It is a beginner friendly pattern.

The pattern consists of only one round.

So, you can make a 5-point star very quickly.

What do you need to make the crochet star

You can use any yarn, such as cotton, acrylic, cotton blend etc. 

The pattern is ideal for using up scrap yarn and leftovers.

I made stars with cotton yarn as well as acrylic sparkle.

Star with cotton yarn

I made the stars with cotton yarn in white and pink.

So, I used:

  • sport cotton yarn (125m/50gr)
  • hook C-2 or D-3 (3mm)

Star with acrylic sparkle yarn

Stars made of sparkle yarn create a festive atmosphere for New Year and Christmas.

Pink is one of my favorite colors. so I used pink sparkle yarn.

Material I used:

  • sport acrylic sparkle yarn
  • hook G-6 (4mm)

How to crochet Star - pattern in English US terms 

The pattern is very easy. There is only one round.

The star pattern is written using standard US crochet terminology.

Abbreviations in the crochet star pattern:
  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • dc - double crochet 

So, START with magic ring. 

Round 1: (1 sc in the ring, 2 dc in the ring, ch 2, 2 dc in the ring) repeat ( ) 5 times. Close the round with 1 sl st in the first sc from the beginning of the round. 

To close the round you can also make an invisible join if it is more convenient to you. 

Cut and fasten off.
